What Is Capable Kids?
Capable Kids is a free, in-person monthly mentorship program designed for elementary-age children. We give kids a safe, intentional space to learn, grow, and build the mindset and habits that will serve them for a lifetime.
Who It Serves
Elementary-age children in the Charlotte, NC area and their families. The program is built for kids who are ready to learn, grow, and be part of a small, intentional community of young people doing the same.
What We Do
Each 60-minute session is thoughtfully structured to spark meaningful conversations, build self-awareness, and develop the habits and mindset that help kids thrive - at school, at home, and in life.
Why We Do It
We believe that financial confidence - and the mindset behind it - can be learned early. Capable Kids plants those seeds. The next generation deserves every advantage we can give them, and it starts here.
Program Basics

Cost
100% Free
No registration fees, no materials fees, no cost of any kind. This program is free to every family, always.
When
First Saturday
Sessions are held the first Saturday of each month. One consistent, predictable date every month.
Time
11 AM - 12 PM
Each session runs 60 minutes from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM EST. A purposeful hour designed for kids.
Location
Harrisburg Branch
Charlotte Mecklenburg Library, Harrisburg Branch. A welcoming, community-centered setting for learning.
Group Size
Up to 8 Kids
Small cohorts by design. Every child gets real attention, real conversation, and a real sense of belonging.
Program Dates
Aug 2026 - May 2027
The program runs August 2026 through May 2027, following an academic-year schedule.

Register Your Child
Space is intentionally limited to 8 children per session so that every child gets meaningful, personal attention. If you have an elementary-age child who is ready to grow, we want to meet them.
